DON'T PANIC. JOIN MIC UP.

There's a new dispossession happening to communities everywhere. Governments and mining companies see our land as barren emptiness. They don't see us, our communities or thriving farms and businesses. They shower us with cliches, overwhelm us with burdensome processes, then they completely ignore us.

We've seen how massive community efforts and expensive expert reports have not only been ignored in project after project, but have been totally disregarded by a parliamentary inquiry.

The planning and approvals process is corrupted by a well-resourced mining industry. Two approved projects were found on objective assessment in the courts to be as unacceptable as communities said they were. Then they changed the rules.

And now they're changing them again.

Communities have to continue to raise funds from struggling families, squander their time and sometimes their health, to be the regulators, the enforcement officers and the lawyers opposing projects that should never been considered.

If this is you, don't panic. Join MIC Up.
